God is at work in new ways

Do you like change? I hope you do, because God is a God of change. Not that He changes, no, but that He desires change and works to bring about change.

“But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:18-19)

We have a tendency to look back, to assume what has come is what is coming. We lose hope and have short memories. We think God has stopped working in us or our world.

God works at 30,000 feet and He walks right next to us. He moves the grand plan to bring about His grand purpose and He works in our hearts and lives to shape us each as individuals to look and sound like a true child of the King.

And the crazy thing is that the change that He creates can come in a moment, after what seems like decades of stagnation. He creates rivers in the dry wasteland. God loves to make all things new. And you are His greatest and grandest canvas on which He paints.

Forget what lies behind, whether good or bad, fix your eyes on Jesus and see what He is doing now! What new thing is God going to do in you this year? Are you looking for it?
Are you expecting it?

Pray with me. Pray for our church, our families, each other. Pray that we would see God at work in new ways. Lets expect a path to be made through the wilderness.

Your friend in the gospel,
Matt
