“Great is Thy faithfulness; Great is Thy faithfulness; Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!”
Music has always spoken to me in tremendous ways. I have grown closer to the Lord and learned many truths from scripture that are woven through numerous hymns of the faith. The title of this famous hymn has been a consistent theme throughout my life. Great is Thy Faithfulness. Regardless of what happens in life, He is steady.
There is no doubt that the last few years have been trying for many of us. We have had to navigate what it looks like to trust the Lord amidst a global pandemic. I have also personally experienced recent loss.
In 2020, my home had significant damage due to a tornado that hit the Arkansas town in which I was serving. I also lost my grandfather to cancer just a few months later. While these circumstances were unexpected and certainly undesired, they also provided opportunities to lean on God’s faithfulness and grow in my dependence upon Him. How true it is that ALL that we need comes straight from Him.
Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”
The right response to His faithfulness is a firm commitment to Jesus. He alone gives hope when there seems to be none. Praise God for His Holy Spirit who guides and comforts us when hope may seem dim. Regardless of how we may feel, His faithfulness never changes. When we acknowledge and rest in the truths from His Word, we can truly say, “Great is Thy faithfulness.”
In Christ,
Adam
