Faithful people are anchored in God’s faithfulness.
God’s faithfulness gives us a place to find rest. We depend on Him showing up, carrying out His promises, and being true to Himself.
God’s faithfulness pulled the scarlet thread of redemption throughout Scripture. Human beings did not pass the baton to each other saying, “We’ve got to make this happen.” Human beings were the ones who stumbled and bumbled their way through a relationship with the living God.
As you recall God’s work through men and women in Scripture, consider the obstacles God overcame in their lives. There were people that were angry, people who lied, committed adultery, people who looked to other gods at times, and people who ran from God. People who did not keep their word.
But God kept His Word. Through it all, God was loyal. He redeemed and restored. He kept His promises. God continues to work in and through people for our good and His glory. God remains faithful.
Such news is welcome to those who walk unsteadily in a fallen world. We can express a sigh of relief.
God is faithful to walk with us. He overwhelms us with His love and comforts us with His presence. His faithfulness extends to our spiritual growth in Christ Jesus.
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and
body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
May His faithfulness inspire your own this week. Turn to Him. Thank God for a Redeemer who never gives up on us. As you walk with Him, He will continue the transformation process. Great is His faithfulness.
Love and blessings,
Dave
