Let Freedom Ring! Freedom is always worthy of celebration!
We celebrate the independence of our great country tomorrow! Thank God for living in a land where
we are free to worship our Creator, Savior, Redeemer, and Lord!
Thank God for the men and women who fought to preserve those freedoms. We are thankful for
those who gave all they had. For some, they sacrificed time, energy, career, and time with family. For
others, they sacrificed their lives completely defending our freedoms. We are enormously grateful.
As you celebrate our country, you might consider, “What have we done with our freedoms?”
Celebration of life in Christ is a celebration of freedom as well.
All who have trusted Jesus as Savior experience freedom from the penalty of death. As you celebrate
freedom tomorrow, I encourage you to excitedly consider your own salvation. Hell is cancelled and
heaven is guaranteed. Recall the circumstances of your life. Celebrate the free gift of salvation in
your own life!
Let’s not take for granted what the finished work of Christ has accomplished for us.
All who are related to Jesus by grace through faith also experience His freedom from the power of
sin. He has given us the freedom to live independent of sin. The temptations of the flesh, the world,
and the devil are very real. Fortunately, we have the power of Christ through the Holy Spirit to
overcome the world, to take the way of escape in regard to temptation, and to resist the devil.
What have you done with this freedom in Christ?
Jesus longs for us to experience His freedom in everyday life. His desire is that we do not live
conflicted lives in slavery to the sin from which He has freed us. He has given us freedom from sin
that we might contribute to His kingdom instead of going our own way.
The command of Christ is that we would take this freedom and make a difference not only in this
world but for His kingdom. Note the words of Paul:
For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom
into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Galatians 5:13
May you pause, find relief, and enjoy the freedom we have as a country tomorrow. And may you be
empowered by the work of Christ in your life to free you to serve Him with great joy!
Let Freedom Ring!
Love and blessings,
Dave
