This evening is our Fall Break for the children and volunteers who are involved in Awana. Church Family, you have been so faithful to pray for this ministry. We are continually grateful for those prayers as parents and leaders instill the Word of God into our children.
Children all around our area are also on a brief break from school. How does a break from work sound to you? I think many people would be on board with that! Rest is a wonderful thing. Every now and then, it is good for our minds and bodies to have an opportunity to relax and have a recharge.
There are many avenues we could look to for rest. A favorite vacation destination. A nice drive to explore and find something new. Engaging in a hobby. Time with family bring renewal for me. These paths can certainly provide a morale boost. However, regeneration in our spirits is of utmost importance.
Matthew 11:28-30
Quite frankly, there are plentiful amounts of troubles that this life can bring. There are many ways that we can become weary and heavy-laden. Christ offers us rest for our very souls. The parts of us that long for Him the most can be satisfied in Him. The nourishment that we receive from God’s Word and time in prayer far surpasses anything that we can find on earth.
Christ is our Gentle Shepherd. He longs for us to find rest and satisfaction in Him. I hope that you will seek to receive renewal in Christ. Draw near to Him through reading the Bible, prayer, and worship. Thank you again for praying for our Awana ministry this evening and as often as the Holy Spirit brings it to mind. As our kids have a break tonight, may you reflect on finding rest in Him.
Love in Christ,
Adam
