One of the fun items that we have in the children’s ministry area uses different colored magnetic shapes. With these prismatic, translucent tiles, a myriad of structures can be built. The kids can build houses, horse stables, or Bible scenes. If they can dream it up, it can be built with the tiles.
Like other magnets, if they are turned the wrong way, they will not connect properly. They repel each other.
As believers, we are called to connect with one another for God’s Kingdom. We are blessed with the opportunity to bear one another’s burdens. To pray for one another. To serve others with a unified front. The New Testament letters have a great deal to say about unity inside the body of Christ.
toil in vain.
Philippians 2:14-16
We have the immense privilege as part of the body of Christ to be family for one another. Our Creator has beautifully made each of us with various skills and gifts that contribute to the Kingdom. When we allow differences and disagreements to thwart our unity, we are like those magnets that repel one another.
Grumbling and disputing hinders our harmony. We are able to reach this understanding by yielding ourselves to the power of the Holy Spirit. It is through this yielding that we become above reproach. Christ already sees us as blameless.
Because of Christ’s righteousness that He freely bestows on us, we can live in a way that is in contrast to the crookedness and perversion of humanity. Through the unity that Christ brings, we can “appear as lights in the world.” May we each strive to connect together to advance God’s Kingdom.
In Christ,
Adam
